Full-time (37.5h) / Permanent

Based in Islington, London

Greenpeace UK is an independent national/regional organisation within the global Greenpeace campaigning network, which acts to change attitudes and behaviour, to protect and conserve the environment and to promote peace. The global network of Greenpeace organisations comprises 26 independent national/regional Greenpeace organisations with presence in over 55 countries across Europe, Africa, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, as well as a coordinating and supporting organisation, Greenpeace International.

This is your opportunity to prove your potential to manage and facilitate activism on climate or social justice issues – including creating accessible systems and processes and putting yourself out there to start conversations and make connections.

Allyship at Greenpeace means building the collective power of the movement, forming alliances with groups on the frontlines of the climate crisis. You’ll be supporting our drive to become better allies to all movements and to align ourselves with diverse voices.

Your responsibilities in this role will include helping to deliver the Movement Support Fund, playing your part in the team managing the Open Workshop Community Space, managing volunteers/freelancers, and helping to embed solidarity approaches across the organisation.

Location: Islington, London. Our hybrid working model enables us to enjoy the benefits of both office based and remote working. We ask that staff work from the office in Islington 40% of their time, with 20% required as a minimum. Reasonable adjustments as well as specific office based needs will be considered for those with long term health conditions and disabilities.

Job requirements

What we're looking for:

  • Experience of managing a community or shared use space, including maintaining accessibility and coordinating bookings.

  • Experience of managing volunteers or freelancers in a professional or informal setting.

  • Experience of working with or within marginalised communities, including understanding their priorities and challenges.

  • Experience of facilitating meetings or workshops with a range of participants.

  • Ability to manage time and work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience of building and maintaining relationships with grassroots or community organisations.

We give you:
You’ll be encouraged to develop both personally and professionally, taking advantage of the wide range of learning and development opportunities available to our staff. We offer great benefits such as a generous pension scheme, subsidised lunches, free yoga and a wealth of well-being resources, just to name a few. Take a look at our Work for Greenpeace pages to find out more about what it’s like to work for us and why you should apply.

Our commitment to diversity: Greenpeace UK is committed to providing equal opportunities for everyone regardless of their background.
