£45,828 – 51,648 per annum

 

Here at Greenpeace, we are looking for an organised, proactive and highly efficient Deputy Head of Finance. You’ll need proven financial experience with a professional yet flexible approach, which you’ll use to facilitate the smooth running of our finance department, nurture our team culture and maintain good working relationships across the organisation.

About this exciting opportunity:

This pivotal role will see our successful candidate undertake a broad range of important duties, including taking responsibility for a key part of our organisation which will include; reporting on monthly performance, managing grants, preparing the annual budget, preparing the annual statutory accounts and conducting the annual audit, reporting to our international head office, plus attending trustee meetings.

 

A key part of the role will be assisting the Head of Finance with key team tasks and outputs, providing expertise, financial advice and problem solving, and deputising for him when required. Preparing and distributing monthly budget holder reports and liaising with budget holders is a key element of the role, as is acting as Project Financial Controller for all international projects where Greenpeace is the lead office, and managing and reporting on organisational cash flow.

Requirements

To secure this role:

A qualified, substantially part qualified, or qualified by experience accountant, you will have a proven track record of working in a finance function in a hands-on role and substantial experience of management accounting, budgeting and reporting. You will also have experience of working proactively to improve and/or set up and manage effective financial processes.

 

An outstanding communicator, with excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to convey financial information in a clear and understandable way, you will also have experience of regular reporting, providing in-depth analysis and guidance to budget holders, and managing a varied and demanding workload. A pragmatic, self-motivated and quality focused approach to your work is vital, as is support for, and belief in, the aims of Greenpeace.
