Salary £37,284 - £43,524 per annum

The Actions Unit is an integral part of Greenpeace UK’s campaigning, providing strategic, tactical and creative input into all campaigns and appropriate investigations. The team are currently looking for Logistician in our workshop and warehouse facilities. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of Actions and Events and actively participate in our Activist Training Programme, with a clear focus on our boat training programme.

 

Greenpeace UK has its own workshop, warehouse, equipment and vehicles based at the Islington site. In conjunction with actively participating in the training and development of boat skills and equipment, your role would be to maintain all of these areas to a high standard. You will also be required to update and source suppliers and keep updated an inventory of all equipment and monitor its whereabouts. This post reports to the Logistics Manager. You would also have to proactively contribute to the integration of the workshop into the Greenpeace UK Offices.

 

You would be required to assist in the preparation and execution of campaign output as and when requested, as well as adding to the innovative ideas that make our direct actions so effective & unique.

Requirements

What we are looking for

The post holder will need broad technical knowledge, experience with RHiBs and the ability to collaboratively deliver suitable trainings to activists. They should also have excellent organisational and logistical skills and experience of campaigning organisations using direct actions. They will need to be able to work in an extremely tight knit, busy team. Often working to strict and sometime shifting deadlines and be able to prioritise their workload. Excellent communication skills are an essential requirement of the post.

 

The post holder will also need to be flexible, offering help and support to volunteers, activists and other team members when the need arises. Because of the nature of the work of the unit, the post holder is expected to understand and respect the special needs for confidentiality and discretion required in this post.
